5 Ways to Manifest the Life You Want

I want to preface this post by saying (typing?) I am not and never intend to be one of those gumdrop button bloggers. I believe opportunities come with a mix of hardwork and privilege. I see the nuance in my day-to-day life. And, I will never preach something I don’t practice. But I do, however, believe we each hold such great power within – a power that is so often and easily overlooked. I want to hone in more and more on that power everyday as I take my respective journey, and if you are too, read along.

I love my life. No, I don’t always wake up on the right side of the bed, and sometimes my bad hair days are really bad. But when I look at the large picture of who I am, where I’ve been and where I’m going, I can’t help but to be proud. Looking at 2017 alone, I can truly say I’m living a life I only only dreamed of. I spent months living in two places I had never been to before, graduated from my dream school, and so much more.

Your life is its own path, but with these five steps, your own path can develop ways you never imagined as well. Here’s how:

Put the #Work In

While manifesting does speak to agreements made with larger powers at hand, you can’t forget your end of the deal of life. To get that job, you’ve gotta reach out to that recruiter with some receipts – or at the very least apply with a bomb (non-recycled) cover letter. Cutting corners is easy, but easy doesn’t cut it.

Believe in What You Believe in…Period

Sounds super easy, but almost everything is easier said than done. When the going gets touch, our morals get questioned regularly. For me, it’s easy to stop journaling and my daily affirmations & intentions when I can’t see the light at the end of the table. Newsflash: giving up helps no one in the situation. Stick with what got you this far.

Hit the Refresh Button on Your Life

And keep doing it regularly. In other words? Don’t ever get complacent. Whenever I reach one goal of mine, it’s time to up the ante and work on conquering another. Sometimes hitting that refresh button can mean taking inventory of your circle and making sure you’re not involved in any toxic relationships. Sometimes it means doing better by your body by saying nah to caffeine. Whatever it is, make it better.

Keep Track of How Far You’ve Come

This is one I have to remind myself of on a regular basis. A big part of accomplishing goals is giving yourself the mental and emotional space to recognize your feats. Going too long without a “man, I really did that!” can easily lead to burning out, and that’s the last thing anyone needs. Keep track of your feats, whether it’s in the Notes on your cellphone, your Bullet Journal, or wherever.

Recognize – and Learn From – The L’s

Because I’m not a gumdrop button blogger, I’ve gotta keep it real with y’all. Sometimes your intentions will fall through the cracks – because they just weren’t meant for you. Taking losses is so so important to manifesting a better life because not only do they keep us humble, they (should) encourage us to go after something better fit for us.

Manifesting a better life doesn’t happen overnight. It is – as most things in life are – a process. Trusting that process and doing your part will bring about the results your deserve.
